I had a number of ports for 127.0.0. What I found to be the actual problem is that I am running a version of Windows that also supports Hyper-V, and it turns out that if Hyper-V is turned on, nested virtualization won't work in VMWare. 1) I ran netstat -a to see what ports are being listened on. This may not be a requirement for you, but it is for me, and so I don't really consider this a solution. However, be advise that KVM support (nested virtualization) will be disabled, and so you will not be able to run things like Cisco VIRL images. Error while getting compute list: Operation timeout. julien-duponchelle added the Bug label on May 31, 2017. Error while getting compute list: Operation timeout. How to troubleshoot: Start the faulty VM in the GUI If VM is not working reimport it If the VM doesn’t work try to import a different VM If this VM doesn’t work reinstall GNS3 vmrun timeout This issue is often related to a problem with your antivirus / firewall. By default, the GNS3 VM is set up to support nested virtualization, and if you are seeing this error message, it is because there is something going on in your host system that is preventing nested virtualization from working. It’s very important to run GNS3 and VMware under the same user.
